THE
COMPWARENESS
THEORY
Of
Consciousness
The miracle of consciousness is woven from computational awareness, the panpsychic awareness of information the equations of physics must have to compute reality.
Reality cannot compute without a pan psychic awareness of the variable and constant values in the computation of physics equations. Our universe is nothing but computations of such information in particles and fields of electromagnetic, gravitational, and strong and weak forces. Reality cannot compute without instantaneous awareness of these variable and constant values. Thus, all of reality requires a pan psychic proto consciousness, a massively parallel, possibly planks-length-fine, 4D space time tensor of instantaneous awareness of variable and constant values in the computation of physics.
Hypothesis: Consciousness is nothing but computational awareness of variables and constants in equations of brain physics. It is a massively parallel, massively unified, instantaneous awareness of variable and constant values largely in electromagnetic computations of brain physics. Its parallelism includes awareness of information in billions to billions of trillions of electromagnetic oscillations ranging from hertz to petahertz. Its informational awareness is unified by electric fields, sympathetic resonance, hierarchy, and cross frequency coupling. Human experiments show EM brain states correspond to timing and content of conscious awareness. Brain scans can see neural activations corresponding to a human’s visual awareness. This correspondence is so detailed that Occam’s razor suggests they are the same awareness.

The understanding of consciousness has been enlightened by a revolution in brain science in the last decade or so, a revolution I call the “terahertz brain.” Traditional brain science dealt largely with frequencies below a thousand cycles per second, mostly below a hundred cps. New research reveals brain physics computes at kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz, and terahertz frequencies. Evidence suggests cross-frequency coupling may well connect timing and modulation of oscillations across these fourteen orders of frequency magnitude. The nerve firings, called action potentials, that used to be considered most of brain computation, are now believed by some to, in effect, ring, and interact with the timing of, a lattice of oscillatory resonant di-electric and dipolar frequencies, perhaps all the way up to visual light frequencies of hundreds of terahertz. The evidence for this functional connection across fourteen orders of frequency magnitude is that most traditional anesthetic drugs appear to knock out consciousness in proportion to the extent they change the frequency of a 613 terahertz oscillation of loosely bound, and thus more oscillatory, pi-electrons in roughly a million trillion tubulin proteins in your brain. It is believed by some this interference kills consciousness by disrupting extremely tight timing that unifies conscious awareness through cross frequency coupling from hundreds of terahertz down to hertz.
New research shows dielectric electromagnetic resonances can travel the length of nerve cells at frequencies ranging from that of action potentials largely under 100 hertz up to frequencies of 100 megahertz. This suggests a single neuron might have the bandwidth to transmit information equivalent to five pre-2011 U.S. broadcast TV channels. Furthermore, multiple sources report that nerve axons connected between different cortical areas function as optical waveguides capable of communicating photonic information with quantum coherence at frequencies of hundreds of terahertz.
Taken together, this high-frequency evidence means the brain has millions of times more internal bandwidth than previously thought, making it much easier to imagine how the brain might generate the rich multimedia awareness of information we experience in consciousness.
Turning to explaining the experience of consciousness itself, I am not aware of any part of my soul, my human spirit that is other than awareness of information, that is, awareness of sensations, patterns, memories, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. As stated above, science requires all reality to have awareness of information, that is, the awareness of variable and constant values the equations of physics must have to compute according to their mathematical formulas. Physical reality is a massively parallel, possibly Planck-length fine, computation taking place throughout all four-dimensional space-time. Reality cannot compute without such awareness of information. The computational awareness of the universe is a vast dense sea of pan psychic proto consciousness.
The goal of my study is to increasingly map the qualities of computational awareness in equations of brain physics to qualities of awareness we sense in consciousness. Brain science can currently, at least hypothetically, explain significant parts of such a mapping, particularly in some of our brain’s sensory and semantic areas. The hierarchical neural net models used in many types of AI help us understand representation and computation of the type that exists in the brain.
Two of the main conceptual problems left to be explained in the science of consciousness are: a) the unification we sense in conscious awareness even though it is computed at many trillions of separate points throughout the brain, and b) the qualities we sense in consciousness that seem quite different from any description of physical information we think the brain has computational awareness of.
Regarding the unification of computational awareness, it is probably at least in part achieved by unities of timing, frequency, sympathetic resonance, and unified hierarchical pattern flashing. Quantum entanglement may play a part, particularly given the aforementioned evidence suggesting there is extremely tight timing of electromagnetic oscillations in the brain and that quantum coherent photonic information can travel in nerve axons between cortical patches..
Regarding Sympathetic resonance, it is the oscillatory unity that occurs when a middle C tuning fork oscillates upon the striking of a middle C piano key. All the oscillators sharing this type of resonance radiate information flows between them, supporting this resonance in each other. The brain has billions to millions of trillions of different types of electromagnetic oscillators. The unity of consciousness may be woven from dynamically changing, widespread electromagnetic sympathetic resonances between and among the trillions of the brain’s electromagnetic oscillators.
Hierarchical pattern flashing is synchronized firing of neurons in multiple hierarchical levels of a given perceptual or conceptual neural net pattern. This flashing normally occurs at gamma frequencies of 30 to 100 hertz, often with roughly five to seven different hierarchical patterns flashing in less than a 10th of a second. The temporal unity of the flashing in each successive pattern tells the brain’s audience of other neurons that inputs from multiple neurons of a currently flashing pattern are part of a unified whole, creating a widespread awareness in the brain of that unity. Similarly, the less close, but still relatively close unity of timing of the successive hierarchical patterns flashed within less than a tenth of a second creates a somewhat similar awareness of the temporal unity of all the successive patterns in that sequence.
Regarding the hard-to-define nature of many qualities of conscious awareness, such as the qualities of the smell of a fragrant flower, it is, at least in part, explained by the informational complexity of such awareness’s. For example, the sense of smell has over a thousand sensory dimensions. One current theory is that many of the sensory and emotional qualities of conscious awareness are derived from the electromagnetic oscillatory patterns of molecules involved in their sensation. There is evidence this is the case for the sense of smell.
